Who Was There For Me?

For five years my glorious married life lasted. I survived simply in a

deliriously happy state, contented, cheerful, joyfully playing the role of the

corporate wife, and volunteering at the regional symphony, serving on boards

of local charities, hosting cocktail parties, planning formal dinners, coordinating

wives-only spa dates, staging bridal showers, arranging baby showers,

chauffeuring girl scouts and boy scouts and soon-to-be scouts, assisting with

funeral arrangements.

Always there whenever, wherever someone, anyone needed something, anything,

then wondering,

Who Is There For Me

“Who is there for me?”
