I just recently met Sophie. After a blog post about Hearing Our Way, I was led to Sophie’s Tales. Teachers and parents of students with hearing loss have a true friend at this website.
Sophie offers a free (FREE!) newsletter full of useful information in support of a meaningful reading experience for hearing-impaired children.
As Melanie Paticoff, creator of Sophie’s Tales, writes on the site, Sophie’s mission is to “teach children with hearing loss to be proud of their differences and to raise awareness about listening and spoken language.”
We all love to read and listen to the spoken word. Some of us just do it differently than others. Click on the book to have a look at Sophie’s Tales.
