Not much to celebrate this week.  It was quiet. At the pace my life has taken in the pCelebrate The Small Thingsast year,  I’m grateful for that.

Here are a few pics of the baby tomatoes in their AeroGardens. I’m happy they’re thriving so I can stay out of the hot Miami sun.  Everything I planted last year burned to a crisp no matter how I tried to protect them.

The lettuces and beet greens grow like weeds.  No more bagged produce for me. Happy the hydroponics work really well.

That’s about it for now.  What are you celebrating?

  1. Marilyn, I love fresh tomatoes! When my in-laws kept a garden this was one of my favorite treats and whenever we visited during the summer months, there was always plenty of them. They often gave us lots of ’em to take home with us, too. My MIL canned green beans, which were the best. You just can’t get canned or frozen ones that good but several years before my MIL’s passing they had to give up gardening because of their age. This meant I had to find a good substitute. The green beans are better than most tomatoes I can get. Maybe, I’ll set out a tomato plant this year. I’ll have to think about that. 🙂

  2. Laid back weeks are so rare and such a blessing! I’m totally curious about your indoor garden. Where did you get the information for doing this? I’ve been thinking of trying something like this myself (we met a woman last Fall in the hospital who was in charge of hydro-gardening on a huge scale–as in the underground subway system in London) but I’m not sure how to do something that at a personal level. So neat!
